Math 25:43 I was a stranger, and
ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and
ye visited me not. 44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when
saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or
in prison, and did not minister unto thee? 45 Then shall he answer them,
saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the
least of these, ye did it not to me. 46 And these shall go away into everlasting
punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. Luke 16:13-14 No servant
can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other;
or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve
God and mammon. And the Pharoses also, who were covetous, heard all
these things: and they derided him. 15 And he said unto them, Ye are they
which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that
which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
1John 3:17 - But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his
brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how
dwelleth the love of God in him? Luke3:11 - He answereth
and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that
hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise. 13 And he
said unto them, Exact no more than that which is appointed you. 14
And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do?
And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely;
and be content with your wages. 1 John 2:15 Love not the world,
neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the
love of the Father is not in him. 1 Timothy 6:9 But
they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many
foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
Mark 10:21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto
him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and
give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take
up the cross, and follow me. 23 And Jesus looked round about, and
saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter
into the kingdom of God! 24 And the disciples were astonished at
his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how
hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than
for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. Luke 6:20
And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor:
for yours is the kingdom of God. 21 Blessed are ye that hunger now:
for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.
22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate
you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name
as evil, for the Son of man's sake. 23 Rejoice ye in that day, and
leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like
manner did their fathers unto the prophets. 24 But woe unto you
that are rich! for ye have received your consolation. 25 Woe unto
you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for
ye shall mourn and weep. 26 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak
well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets. 34
And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye?
for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. 35 But
love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again;
and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest:
for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Luke 12:16
And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich
man brought forth plentifully: 17 And he thought within himself,
saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build
greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. 19
And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many
years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. 20 But God said
unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then
whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? 21 So is
he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
Luke 13:23 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be
saved? And he said unto them, 24 Strive to enter in at the strait
gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be
able. 30 And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there
are first which shall be last. Luke 14:11 For whosoever exalteth
himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
13 But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame,
the blind: 14 And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense
thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.
Luke 16:19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in
purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: 20 And there
was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of
sores, 21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from
the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the
angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham
afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father
Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of
his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst
thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted,
and thou art tormented. John 12:25 He that loveth his life
shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it
unto life eternal. 2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together
with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness?
and what communion hath light with darkness? 15 And what concord hath Christ
with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16 And
what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple
of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in
them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17 Wherefore
come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch
not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. James 1:11 For the sun is
no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the
flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so
also shall the rich man fade away in his ways. James 2:10
For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he
is guilty of all. 14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say
he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15 If a brother
or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16 And one of you say
unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye
give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it
profit? 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18
Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith
without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19 Thou believest
that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
James 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye
may consume it upon your lusts. 4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses,
know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever
therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. 16 But
now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil. James
5:1 Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall
come upon you. 2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.
3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness
against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure
together for the last days. Revelation 21:8 But the fearful,
and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and
sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake
which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Proverbs
13:7 There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that
maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches. Proverbs 21:17 He that loveth
pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be
rich. Proverbs 28:22 He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth
not that poverty shall come upon him. Micah 6:12 For the rich men thereof
are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and
their tongue is deceitful in their mouth. |
